The setup is performed at the time of the delivery, but in case you wish to use a second device, you can connect it to the input ports on the side of the display. For the drawing and touch features to work properly, the display and the device also needs to be connected via a USB cable.
For further information on this, see “How do I connect my device to the BIG PAD display?”
If, one the other hand, you intend to extend or mirror the screen area, you can connect additional monitors to the output ports on the bottom area of the display.
Depending on whether you want to use the BIG PAD display with a touch pen, finger, or both, you can select the desired setting by first pressing the “Menu” button on the remote control. After a menu appears on the screen, select the icon corresponding to the desired mode in its upper right corner.
To select the desired writing method on Pen Software instead, press the “Settings” icon portraying a wrench and a screwdriver to enter the software’s settings. Select “Enable” under the option “Finger can draw” if you want to draw with a finger or a passive pen.
If you have a PN-60TB3 model, you have purchased a compatible PN-ZL01A or PN-ZL02A active pen model and you wish to specifically use it, first select “Disable” under the option “Finger can draw”. Then press the “Touch Pen Utility” pen icon on the taskbar, select “Operation settings” and then “Input mode”. If you wish to use both the active pen and your finger, select “Standard” from this menu. In case you wish to use solely the active pen, select “Pen”. If you draw with the active pen alone, but you wish to select objects (e.g. drawn lines or images) using your finger, go to the Pen Software settings and select “Enable” under the option “Select with Finger in Pen mode”.
To select the desired writing method in Direct Drawing, press the cogwheel image to enter the software settings. If you wish to draw with a finger, select “Draw with pen and finger”. After selecting the option “Draw with pen and finger”, the icon you pressed changes to the form “Draw only with pen”. Click this option if you wish to draw solely with the touch pen. You can use the finger in this mode only to perform gestures.
Please note that from the display range we offer, only PN-85TH1, PN-75TH1 and PN-65TH1 include the above-mentioned Direct Drawing application.
Do you wish to work on the device connected to the BIG PAD display without having to switch the screen content targeted to your audience?
You can find the “FREEZE” button from the front side, bottom right corner of the display. Pressing the “FREEZE” button freezes the screen to the view displayed during that exact moment.
Please note that out of the display range we offer, only the PN-60SC5 model includes the above-mentioned “FREEZE” button.
Do you want to dim the BIG PAD screen and its currently displayed content without completely turning off the display?
You can find the “BL OFF” button from the front side, bottom right corner of the display. By pressing the button, you can switch the backlight of the screen off and back on at your will.
Please note that out of the display range we offer, only the PN-60SC5 model includes the above-mentioned “BL OFF” button.
You can draw on images and files using the Overlay mode of the Pen Software application. To access the Overlay mode, press the “Overlay mode Pen Software” button on the desktop and select an Overlay board saved in SWSO file format.
A transparent board will open on the screen, allowing you to draw and write directly on files or sites. Please note that you cannot separately manage the files and sites below the board while the Overlay mode is on.
To draw on the Overlay board, select one of the “Pen 1”, “Pen 2” and “Pen 3” icons and draw on the board with your touch pen. If “Finger can draw” is set to “Enable”, you can also draw on the board using your finger.
You can handle multiple files simultaneously with the SHARP Touch Viewer software.
First, create a new folder on the device and add there all the files you wish to work with. Then open the Touch Viewer software and press the “+” button to create a new drawer. Click the “Browse” button and select the folder you previously created on the device. Press “ok” to create the drawer. The software can contain up to 20 drawers at a time, including temporary drawers that contain the included external files, notes, and web pages. A single drawer can contain a maximum of 100 files. A single file can hold up to 200 pages to handle and present.
To present a file of your choice, click on the drawer that contains the said file and a list of files in the drawer will open. Select the desired file and drag it to the location of your choice in the drawer, and the file will appear as a sheet at the selected location.
If you wish to present a file that cannot be found in the drawer you created, you can do so by selecting “Home” from the tools and then pressing “Add Sheet” and finally “Open”. You can also add a blank sheet for notes by pressing “Note sheet” from the tools and selecting the desired type of the note. In addition to these, you can present a web page of your choice by pressing “Home” from the tools and then selecting “Web sheet”.
If you wish, you can also take a screenshot of the sheet of your choice and present it as an image in the software by touching the desired sheet and pressing “Capture”.
You can connect your device to the BIG PAD display in two ways.
If you plan to use the BIG PAD display as a screen of your own computer and you have either a DisplayPort or an HDMI cable available, you can connect the display to your computer with these. In addition to the display signal, you can connect a USB cable to enable the pen and touch functions. When the display is connected in this manner, your device can be found under “DisplayPort” or “HDMI” when you access the “input” menu of the BIG PAD display. This is the common way to connect a display to a device and these input connectors can be found from the side of the display. When connected in this way, you will not be able to take advantage of the BIG PAD display’s programs. Instead, you are working on your own device through the BIG PAD screen.
For the touch control to be directed to the device, “USB port selection” must be set to “External” in the display settings. In some cases, the touch may be directed to the device’s own screen. If this is the case, open “Tablet PC Settings” on the device and configure the pen and touch screen settings. You may also need administrator privileges to do this.
If you want to control the BIG PAD display wirelessly from the devices on your local area network (LAN / WLAN), you can use the free client program designed exclusively for this, also called the SHARP Display Connect. For this to function properly, the BIG PAD display must be on the same local area network and the program must be running in host mode. A lite version of the program is pre-installed on the displays, allowing twenty devices to be connected. SHARP Display Connect is available for Android, iOS, Mac and Windows devices and the connected devices can use it for free.
To connect the device to the display, open SDConnect if you are on Android or iOS device, or SHARP Display Connect if you are on Windows or Mac. The program lists the hosts on the same network after the start-up. If the host is not listed here, you can connect to it manually with the IP address. The program allows you to share files among members as well as to control and draw on the host screen.
With its Pen Software Whiteboard mode and Direct Drawing software, the BIG PAD display provides the needed tools to use the screen as a whiteboard.
To use the Pen Software’s Whiteboard feature, open “Pen Software” from the desktop or the home menu and select the whiteboard saved in SWSX file format. A blank paper board, where you can draw and write notes on, will open on the screen. You can open a total of four separate whiteboards.
To draw on the whiteboard, select one of the “Pen 1”, “Pen 2” and “Pen 3” icons and draw on the whiteboard with your touch pen. If “Finger can draw” is set to “Enable”, you can also draw on the board using your finger.
To use Direct Drawing, open the said software and a blank sheet will appear on the screen.
To draw on the sheet, select one of the “Pen Palette 1”, “Pen Palette 2” and “Pen Palette 3” icons and draw on the board with your touch pen. If “Draw with pen and finger” is selected in the settings, you can also draw on the board using your finger.
Please note that out of the display range we offer, only PN-85TH1, PN-75TH1 and PN-65TH1 include the above-mentioned Direct Drawing software.
Whether you used Direct Drawing or Pen Software, naturally you will always have the option to save the sheets of your choice.
To save a sheet on Direct Drawing, touch the “…” button and then the button portraying a folder icon. Direct Drawing enables you to save sheets in SDSW format, which allows you to edit the sheet at a later time, as well as in PDF format, where you can save the file with drawing and writing as a single image. Thus, select “Save” (SDSW format) or “Save as PDF” depending on your desired save format. After choosing the appropriate format, select a proper save destination and name for the file. When you are all set, touch the “Save” button.
Please note that out of the display range we offer, only PN-85TH1, PN-75TH1 and PN-65TH1 include the above-mentioned Direct Drawing application.
To save a sheet on Pen Software, touch the “Save” button (portraying a floppy disk) in the menu, and then select the desired save format. Pen Software allows you to save sheets in SWSX format, in case you wish to edit the sheet in Whiteboard mode at a later time, as well as in SWSO format, if you would like to edit it later in Overlay mode. In these cases, select either “Save as a new file” if you wish to save the sheet as a new file, or “Save to the same file” if you would like to save the sheet over an existing save. If you wish to combine the file with your drawing and writing into one image, you can also save the sheet as a PDF or image file (BMP, JPEG, PNG). In this case, select either “Save PDF” or “Save image”. After deciding on the appropriate save format, finish the process by selecting the desired save destination for your image.
The screen can be divided in two different ways. The screen area can be controlled with Windows’ own features, or the screen content can be presented and controlled remotely via other devices by using the SHARP Display Connect software.
The Windows 10 operating system installed within the BIG PAD display includes features that allow you to conveniently share the screen area using the application windows. You can move the layout by touching a window, placing your finger on the blue title bar at the top of the window, and by moving your finger. This way, the window follows the movement of the finger in the same way as it would with a mouse.
To place a window on the right or the left side of the screen, drag your finger to the side edge of the screen and lift your finger. Windows will then provide a list of open application windows from which you can select one to be displayed on the other side. By dragging a window to the side edge of the screen and then up or down along the edge, the window will settle to the top or bottom corner of the screen, respectively.
If you have a keyboard, you can also use keyboard shortcuts. To do this, hold down the Windows button and use the arrow keys. The right and left keys move the window, and the up and down keys zoom it in and out.
The screen content can also be controlled and presented via other local devices. The SHARP Display Connect software is pre-installed on the BIG PAD display and its license allows up to 20 users to simultaneously connect to the conference over a local area network.
The users need to download SHARP Display Connect to their own devices. For computers, it is available in Google Chrome’s Web Store and requires the Google Chrome browser. Additionally, the devices must be connected to the same local network environment to connect. Contact your local IT support for assistance in connecting to the network.
In order for the display to accept users, SHARP Display Connect must be launched and set to the “Host” mode with the “Start up as host” button. Users within the same network will then be able to view the conference and join in with their own SHARP Display Connect applications.
The software allows the presentation and control of the BIG PAD display’s screen content by using the “Screen Sharing” tab. Additionally, you can point to or draw on the screen via your own device or you can take notes. Files can be sent and received by using the “Send File” and “Received Files” tabs.
Providing the digital tools for safe and effortless work on the go, Apopad is a 100 % Finnish software solution brand that connects digital information, people, and the organisations of the pharmaceutical industry.
The Apopad solution also includes a BIG PAD display, which enables the application of lean strategy-based practices by utilising this digital platform.

Apopad users benefit especially in the areas of work efficiency, communication, decision making and knowledge management.
Added value to work efficiency
With its features, the Apopad software makes its users’ working time more efficient, informed, and much more interesting. In the near future, the software can also be used to enhance the work shift management, which would also improve both the productivity of the pharmacy as well as the management and well-being of its employees.
Added value to communication and decision making
The software also enables more efficient internal communication as well as closer cooperation and transparency. At the same time it decisively reduces time, costs, emissions, and stress. The interactive BIG PAD display in turn further facilitates the collaboration and decision-making by enabling simultaneous viewing and comparison of various sites and charts as well as the simultaneous handling of many different files in the so-called “huddle meetings”. The collaboration and decision-making can also be made more creative in one fell swoop by utilising the drawing features of the display.
Added value to knowledge management
In addition to the aforementioned capabilities, Apopad ensures that no one in your organisation is left out when it comes to knowledge. Every document and piece of knowledge travels along with you – wherever you go. Every document and piece of knowledge travels along with the user – wherever one goes.
Apopad can be deployed without a display, but the software and the display together create a unified digital environment enabling a seamless digital workflow without interruptions and interconnects all the necessary stakeholders.
While the Apopad software along with its features ensures that the knowledge needed for the training seminars and better leadership in the pharmacies is always accessible, the BIG PAD display provides a better access to harness that knowledge. With its features, the display offers many opportunities to make meetings and conferences more efficient and interesting – therefore, its job is to ensure that the knowledge provided by Apopad always finds its recipients.
In other words, the purpose of the BIG PAD display is to bring the necessary knowledge right to the centre of the pharmacy.

Organisational development benefits everyone. You now have the opportunity to manage your organisation through lean strategy by leveraging the digital platforms our displays represent. From the following uses, you will discover many benefits regarding the communication, knowledge management and future sales competitions – or even while watching the World Cup.
Holding a meeting without deeper consideration may result in various sorts of discord, manifesting as indolence, lack of commitment or as messages that, despite their creative intent, do not reach their listeners.
One of the founding ideas of the display is to provide the organisation with a systematic tool which allows you to develop your own meeting practices. The goal is to make meetings interesting and to ensure that the tools are up-to-date.
In fact, the biggest change in our work and personal lives are these mobile devices and the working practices learned using them.
Microsoft 365 programs
The display allows you to open the regular Microsoft 365 files, write and edit them in real time as well as save and share information from a single desktop. You can also make notes on a digital whiteboard and even manage all the necessary software on the same digital desktop.
Info sessions & visitors
Visitors’ devices, including mobile devices, phones, tablets and portable workstations, can be connected to the display either wirelessly or through a wired connection. The connected device can also be included with a touch feature, allowing the performer to control the presentation straight from the display.
Training
The purpose of the displays is to enhance learning. Working with displays during the training sessions produces more content, which consequentially makes these educational situations more interactive. You are able to further improve the participation and the engagement of your staff.
The displays are equipped with tools to hold the training situations securely from distance. The Apopad software enables the creation of a software-independent interface that makes it possible for even external stakeholders to participate.
Additionally, everything done on the display can be saved to Apopad recordings. This allows the employees to view the training at a time more suitable for them.
Finished content
There is a lot of educational material in the industry in the form of ready-made recordings or other kinds of content. The display enables the sharing of such training content with multiple people, while simultaneously utilising the other tools embedded in the display.
Recordings
Everything done with the display on-site or remotely can be recorded. Therefore, the learning is not interrupted even if only one group participates in the medication info session or if the educator decides to hold the training remotely. Others can watch the recorded session later at a time most suitable for them and also discuss it in Apopad.
The work done on the display can be recorded in real time.
The Pharmacy system
Connecting the pharmacy systems, including Maxx, PD3 and Salix, to the display is easy and makes it possible for you to enhance your communication. In addition to this, the utilisation of the high resolution display aids in discerning even the most complicated subjects.
Ask more about connecting the pharmacy systems by using our contact form or support site.
